Content policy

Storyhaven is a place to read and talk about stories. These rules apply to novels, chapters, comments, requests and profiles.

1.Never allowed

We remove these and close the accounts involved, and report to the authorities where the law requires:

Any sexual content involving minors, including fictional or drawn depictions.
Content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
Sharing someone's private information without consent, or threats against real people.
Content that is illegal where it is published or read.

2.Mature novels

Novels with explicit sexual content, graphic violence or other adult themes must be marked 19+. They are only shown to readers who confirmed they are adults and turned them on, and only while 19+ content is enabled on the site. Staff may mark a novel 19+ or unpublish it if it isn't labelled correctly.

3.Comments and requests

Keep it about the story and be decent to each other.

No harassment, insults aimed at people, or hate based on who someone is.
No spoilers for later chapters in comments on earlier ones.
No spam, advertising, or links to pirated copies.
No impersonating staff, translators or other readers.
Requests are for novels you'd like translated; keep descriptions free of explicit content.

4.Copyright

Only publish work you have the rights to. Translators confirm they hold the rights, or the rights holder's permission, when they apply. Rights holders can send a takedown notice through the DMCA page.

5.Reporting

Use the report button on a comment to flag it. Comments with several reports are hidden until staff review them. For anything else, contact us through the help center.

6.Enforcement

Depending on how serious it is, staff may hide or delete content, unpublish a novel, remove posting rights, or suspend or close an account. Coins on a closed account are lost, as the terms explain. If you think we got it wrong, contact us and we'll take another look.
