Anon (61F) (OP): Also, it seems like I already have a bad reputation in the Death God Realm.
ㄴ Anon (710F): What do you mean?
ㄴ Anon (61F) (OP): I tried to ask one of the Death Gods for directions, but they took one look at me and bolted. Said something like they wanted nothing to do with the Gate Keeper of the Demon King's Tower.
ㄴ Anon (710F): Huh?;;; You were already famous?
ㄴ Anon (467F): So even the Death God Realm knows about the Demon King's Tower lol
ㄴ Anon (438F): So you're saying your image is already trashed so it doesn't matter? lmaooooooooooooo
ㄴ Anon (187F): Then just keep erasing red names and get infinite instant-kill refills, let's gooo~
ㄴ Anon (710F): People who aren't even Death Gods talking out of their ass about things they don't understand, smh
People who aren't even Death Gods.
Hearing that made a certain question surface in my mind.
ㄴ Anon (61F) (OP): Death Note Grand Canon, do you know who I am? You said you're a natural-born Death God, so if I'm famous in the Death God Realm, you might know of me.
ㄴ Anon (347F): "You don't know me?" speedrun lol
An answer came back shortly.
Death Note Grand Canon: …My allotted time in the Death God Realm expired more than 500 years ago. I have no knowledge of events after that.
I see.
So this Death God girl had apparently earned her notoriety after my master had already left the Death God Realm.
ㄴ Anon (61F) (OP): Floor-710, you don't know either, right?
ㄴ Anon (710F): Yeah, I'm possessing a Death God just like you, so I don't know either.
Hmm.
So that's how it is.
In that case…
ㄴ Anon (61F) (OP): Floor-710, next time you visit the Death God Realm, could you ask the other Death Gods about the Gate Keeper?
ㄴ Anon (387F): Excuse me
ㄴ Anon (680F): Oh so if you don't know, go find out lmaooooooo
ㄴ Anon (435F): lmaooooooooooooooooo
ㄴ Anon (710F): Sure… but I probably won't be going for a while.
ㄴ Anon (61F) (OP): Thank you!
Alright.
At the very least, I might be able to get some information about the Death God girl I'm possessing.
Floor-710 is from a different parallel universe, so they wouldn't know the consequences of me erasing two names… but still.
ㄴ Anon (234F): Running errands for someone 600+ floors below you lmaooooooo
ㄴ Anon (61F) (OP): They said I'll get attacked if I go back… I'd have to run for my life, so I probably can't ask around myself.
ㄴ Anon (234F): ?
ㄴ Anon (651F): Why would you run, just don't go lmaooooooooooooo
ㄴ Anon (435F): Are you seriously going to farm infinite instant-kill refills? lmaooooooooooooooooo
ㄴ Anon (61F) (OP): No, I'm going to use Death's Edge Invincibility…
At that, my master erupted.
Death Note Grand Canon: You STILL haven't grasped the gravity of the situation!!
Death Note Grand Canon: The taboo you committed is high treason—a desecration of the Great Stone Tablet's order! If you return to the Death God Realm, you will be summarily executed by the Adjudicators!!
From the sound of it, running wouldn't even be an option.
I'd be killed the moment I arrived.
I didn't bother asking what would happen if I died in the Death God Realm. Soul annihilation or something along those lines, probably.
ㄴ Anon (710F): She really did cause a massive incident;;
ㄴ Anon (312F): Why?
ㄴ Anon (710F): Think about it. What she got by erasing someone else's name was a minimum 3-tier Sentence of Death.
ㄴ Anon (710F): That means the Death God whose name she erased was a monster who'd go down in the Great Stone Tablet's history.
ㄴ Anon (710F): And now a newbie wiped that genius's name out, meaning they can never use their instant-kill skill again…
ㄴ Anon (311F): Oh.
ㄴ Anon (461F): lmaooooooooooooo
ㄴ Anon (243F): But if they don't have an instant-kill skill, doesn't the newbie win? Why should she be scared?
ㄴ Anon (710F): She'd have to deal with the entire faction backing that Death God…
ㄴ Anon (431F): The connections though
ㄴ Anon (468F): Are they bringing their parents? lmao
ㄴ Anon (647F): Do Death Gods even have moms?
ㄴ Anon (710F): ?
It seemed I had snapped the wings off a promising young Death God.
And now that Death God was apparently going to mobilize every connection they had to come after me.
"…Hmm."
That was when it happened.
ㄴ Anon (648F): But Death's Edge Invincibility was something you couldn't keep using forever anyway. The two instant-kill skills are permanent—isn't this actually a net gain?
Someone said out loud exactly what I'd been thinking to myself.
The logic that yes, a risk had appeared, but the return was greater.
But Floor-710's response was negative.
ㄴ Anon (710F): Well… it's actually kind of complicated. Getting 2 instant-kill skills is great, but rotating them is going to be rough.
ㄴ Anon (432F): Why?
ㄴ Anon (710F): The *Slash* she awakened is the only Sentence of Death that's based on Strength and Agility.
ㄴ Anon (710F): But Black Magic, which is the Death God race's core discipline, is based on Intelligence and Magic Power.
ㄴ Anon (710F): Meaning, to make meaningful use of *Slash*, she'd need to invest in physical stats—but that completely screws up the Black Magic skill tree.
In other words, *Slash* and *Sight* were each based on different stats, so they couldn't be used simultaneously.
I understood what that meant.
[Sentence of Death – Slash (斬)]
Immediately executes one target that comes into contact with the Death God's scythe.
*Slash* was an instant-kill skill that required physically cutting with the scythe, so of course it would need physical stats.
ㄴ Death Note Grand Canon: Precisely! That is why the orthodox path is to skip *Slash*, which is the 3rd tier, without awakening it, and proceed directly to *Sight*, the 4th tier, through continued cultivation!
ㄴ Anon (710F): Having two Sentences of Death is genuinely something I've never seen before… Even if we try to make the most of it, there's no clear answer on how to build her growth route.
That was when it happened.
Other named users jumped in.
ㄴ Sword Sovereign Ji-hee: *Slash*, is it. I know nothing of a Death God's instant-kill skills, but if you need to wield a weapon, I can teach you.
ㄴ Anon (710F): ?
ㄴ One Who Savors a Cup of Black Tea: If you're already in a position of being persecuted by the Death God Realm… perhaps this is a good opportunity to try the path of Necromancy? ^^
ㄴ Anon (654F): Look at that sharp sales pitch lmao
ㄴ Anon (348F): Sword Sovereign Ji-hee, first time seeing her since she got ghosted by the newbie on day 1 lmaooo
ㄴ Anon (710F): Please stop. Why would she learn to use a weapon. Drop *Slash* and just go with *Sight*.
ㄴ Death Note Grand Canon: How dare you interject! For a Death God, anything outside of instant-kill skill-derived Black Magic is heresy!
I scrolled through it all and thought carefully.
"Why is there so much that doesn't fit together…"
Come to think of it, Necromancy was the same way.
Necromancy was supposedly the polar opposite of Death Gods, who weren't on good terms with souls.
The two Sentences of Death were the same.
The path that invested in Strength and Agility, and the Black Magic path that invested in Intelligence and Magic Power—they each led in different directions.
"……"
But when I thought about it carefully.
The concept of being "polar opposites" was premised on two things being in conflict.
But Death Gods and Necromancy.
*Slash* (斬) and *Sight* (視).
Magic Power stats and Strength stats.
Whether these things actually conflicted with each other was something I genuinely doubted.
What specific problems would arise if a Death God learned Necromancy.
What would happen if you invested in both Strength and Magic Power simultaneously.
No one had given a proper explanation of any concrete side effects.
Maybe there wasn't actually much of a conflict point to call them polar opposites?
With that thought taking root, I eventually arrived at this conclusion.
'What if I just master all of it?'
Probably arrogance.
But it wasn't baseless confidence.
Something that supposedly took others a week—obtaining a circle—I had accomplished in a single hour.
Blood Command, supposedly the highest-tier magic for manipulating blood, I had grasped in one go.
And even the Cupless Tea Rite, which was said to be outright impossible, I had succeeded on the very first attempt.
…Honestly, right now, it felt like there was nothing in this tower I couldn't do.
I placed my hands on the holographic keyboard.
I posted a question thread.
______
Title: Thinking about just using everything.
Author: Anon (61F)
I want to use Sentence of Death – Slash, use Sentence of Death – Sight, use Black Magic, and learn Necromancy too.
It seems like I'm already an outcast in the Death God Realm, so does it even matter?
If it's already irreversible, isn't it better to make the most of the situation…
But to use *Slash* I'd probably need to invest in physical stats—would it be possible to spread my stat points around?
_____
I hit the post button.
The moment I refreshed, the Gallery exploded.

Anon (312F): Yeah, good luck with that.
Anon (643F): Greed speedrun lmaooo
Anon (431F): *blub blub blub blub* (sound of jjamppong boiling over)
Anon (640F): What the hell is this nonsense, she's literally saying she wants to become a trash build lmaooooooooooo
Fenrir: Spreading stats is an absolute taboo… build like that and your growth stops dead in its tracks…
Death Note Grand Canon: You fool! If you cannot reach the pinnacle of even one thing, you are nothing but a pile of junk!! Abandon that idiotic notion at once!!
Everyone was speaking with one voice, trying to talk me out of it.
"Hmm…"
I'd expected to run into opposition.
ㄴ Anon (794F): Seriously, absolutely not.
Absolutely.
I heard that word and lifted my head.
"…None of you have escaped yet."
Weren't all the people posting in this Gallery people who hadn't found the right answer?
That thought crossed my mind, but I quickly shook my head.
"Still, it's probably arrogance…"
Spreading stats was, even by my own reckoning, a notion far removed from common sense.
But right at that moment.
Someone appeared.
Void Hermit: Young Death God, you have grasped the thread quite remarkably.
An opening that seemed to affirm what I'd said.
Just text, yet an overwhelming presence.
"Void Hermit…"
The named user who had once dismissed both me and the invaders as trivial, then vanished.
ㄴ Death Note Grand Canon: For the mighty one of floor 900 to appear… what brings you here…!
Even my master addressed this person with deference.
ㄴ Void Hermit: And yet, all of you understand nothing of this tower's absolute trials (絶難).
My master cautiously posed a question.
ㄴ Death Note Grand Canon: …This humble one's knowledge is shallow, and I cannot fathom what the mighty one speaks of. Would you grant us your teaching?
A moment later.
A long reply from the Void Hermit filled the comment section.
ㄴ Void Hermit: Every race and lineage. Every branch of magic. Countless divine arts (神通) and secret techniques (秘術), the ever-shifting myriad sword forms (劍訣) and weapons (兵器). The tens of millions of strengths and peculiarities dwelling within each of them, and the ultimate essence (極意) of all of it.
ㄴ Void Hermit: Among these, which branches must be pruned, and which tips (枝端) must be chosen, to reach the summit?
ㄴ Void Hermit: Answer me. What is the correct path?
ㄴ Death Note Grand Canon: …I understand the meaning of what you say. However, because we are of the Death God race, we believed that refining the Death God's secret arts was the most righteous path.
ㄴ Void Hermit: Very well, you said Death God?
Draw (引)
Carve (刻)
Slash (斬)
Sight (視)
Sever (斷)
Annihilate (滅)
Zero (零)
Ash (灰)
Death God of floor 800. Among these eight, where does your attainment stand?
ㄴ Death Note Grand Canon: How do you know the tiers of the Sentence of Death…!!!
ㄴ Void Hermit: I have awakened all of them.
ㄴ Death Note Grand Canon: That… I cannot believe it…!
ㄴ Void Hermit: You may despair further still. And yet, even so, I have not found a way to face the next stratum.
"…"
Extraordinary.
The named user called Void Hermit appeared to have mastered even the Death God race's instant-kill skills in their entirety.
And even with all of that, they had been unable to climb the tower.
"…So that's why they called instant-kill skills trivial divine arts…"
ㄴ Void Hermit: None of us who have yet to reach the summit possess the means to discern what the summit even is.
ㄴ Void Hermit: And yet, on what basis do each of you advocate for your own respective combat arts?
"……!"
The fine hairs on my forearms stood on end.
ㄴ Void Hermit: I will give you the answer.
ㄴ Void Hermit: Conquering the tower means flawlessness.
ㄴ Void Hermit: Penetrating All Things (萬象貫通), Indestructible Against All Things (萬象不壞).
ㄴ Void Hermit: The one and only way to ascend the tower's one thousand floors is to reach the realm of omnipotence (萬能). That is all.
ㄴ Death Note Grand Canon: How could a single being possibly contain everything within themselves!
ㄴ Sword Sovereign Ji-hee: What floor are you on right now?
ㄴ One Who Savors a Cup of Black Tea: The realm of omnipotence… is such a thing even possible…?
Those questions received no reply.
He ignored everyone and spoke directly to me.
ㄴ Void Hermit: Young Death God. You may be proud. That arrogance that must have sprung from your own mind—it is the correct answer. Learn everything.
ㄴ Void Hermit: Devour every taboo whole.
With those words, he was gone.
"…"
Taboos.
A Death God learning Necromancy.
Erasing another Death God's name from the Great Stone Tablet.
Using *Slash* and *Sight* together.
Investing in both physical stats and magic stats simultaneously.
And…
Killing people.
I was a being who could earn more experience points than anyone else in this tower.
Thanks to the existence of the invaders.
Perhaps I could even earn experience points in the Death God Realm.
…And so.
It might be possible for me to invest in every stat.
"Devour it all whole…"
To survive.
To get out of this tower.
I moved my hand and pulled up the stat distribution window.
