Title: Analysis and Recommendations for All 9 Golden Chest Artifacts. (Long post warning)
Author: SSS-Rank Gear Chaser
Item selection… my dopamine is going absolutely insane right now.
I'm so giddy I can barely keep my hands steady.
I've been writing Golden Carriage rotation posts day in and day out, and now I finally get to review nine brand-new artifacts… and every single one is Legendary grade!
Legendary grade is an insane value pickup at a newbie's current spec level.
From the Golden Carriage, you're lucky to see one drop once or twice a year, and even during the year-end gacha they're basically the top-tier reward.
81 billion… I'm already looking forward to seeing how much of that you'll blow on the year-end gacha, but let's save the small talk for later and get into the meat of it.
The artifact descriptions are way too brief, so I'm going to pull everything I know and break each one down—pros, cons, the whole deal.
[Wrath of the Sun God] ★ 8.5
Triggers a solar explosion around the user just before taking a hit.
It's an offense-defense hybrid type with absolutely no cooldown.
Genuinely absurd. Broken item.
It'll perform overwhelmingly well in the early floors.
I'm not even exaggerating that much when I say you could probably push all the way to floor 300 just by holding onto this and doing nothing else.
Might sound funny, but it's also solid for eye-blinding purposes in the mid-to-late game. Against monsters with visual organs, you can basically treat it as a guaranteed momentary stun.
[Smile of the Life God]
Fully recovers from all injuries every 5 seconds.
★ 6.
A 5-second cooldown on full recovery is genuinely legendary.
The effect rivals top-tier healing magic.
For tanks, this is the kind of item that makes your mouth water.
But the catch is it only matters after you've already taken damage, which makes it a bit awkward.
Since you're nowhere near a tank build, it feels like a mismatch.
[Endurance of the Earth God]
Permanently deploys a resistance barrier against all elemental attributes.
★ 7.5.
This barrier is top-tier as well.
It's effectively viable up through the 600s and has excellent versatility.
For a newbie who hasn't learned a single defensive technique yet, this fits perfectly.
In terms of defensive performance, it's roughly on par with the highest-tier elemental Magic Shields for each attribute.
If you want to maximize survivability right now, this is the one.
That said, there are occasional enemies with spike damage that punches through everything, so it's not a universal answer.
The fact that you can eventually learn top-tier Magic Shields yourself also makes it harder to justify picking.
[Freedom of the Wind God]
Movement is no longer subject to the limits of inertia.
★ 5.
The description is so bare-bones you might not realize how good this actually is.
Being free from inertia is the core principle behind high-speed movement magic and martial mobility arts.
Pick this up and you can basically coast through any mobility technique.
The problem is that inertia negation can be learned without this item, and that's a pretty significant knock against it.
[Lament of the Sea God]
Halves the agility stat of all enemies within range.
★ 7.
Intuitively, obviously broken. No argument needed.
It's an irreplaceable item with absurd balance-breaking potential.
But in our Demon King's tower… the problem is there are a lot of stationary, defensive-type monsters.
Turret-types—monsters that don't use agility at all—are surprisingly common.
And in the later floors, there are quite a few enemies that flat-out nullify stat-reduction debuffs.
[Tremor of the Thunder God]
Strikes enemies with lightning on attack and paralyzes them for a set duration.
★ 9!
Absolutely. Broken. Garbage-tier balance.
Completely unhinged item.
Electric-type attacks have surprisingly few monsters with resistance.
The paralysis effect will stay relevant well into the late floors.
The activation condition—melee basic attack on-hit—is a bit limiting right now, but once your strength and agility are properly backed up later, this thing will show its true worth.
[Serenity of the Moon God]
Significantly reduces the mana circulation and blood flow speed of enemies within sight.
★ 7.5.
Excellent for the Demon King's tower's one-on-one combat format.
Because there aren't multiple enemies trying to flank you from behind your line of sight.
It's a comprehensive debuff skill that simultaneously shaves the opponent's mana, strength, and agility.
So the versatility is considerable.
It might be countered by split-type or illusion-type monsters, but it'll land as a critical debuff against nearly everything else.
However, it shares the same problem as the Lament of the Sea God.
There are quite a few enemies that nullify stat-reduction debuffs.
[Confusion of the Mist God]
Inflicts Confusion on targets that look directly at you.
★ 5.
This would normally be broken too, but it feels designed for one-versus-many scenarios.
The Demon King's tower is a continuous string of one-on-one boss fights, and there are enough confusion-immune enemies that the efficiency drops off. Most mental-type effects work this way. Skip this one.
And finally…
[Oblivion of the Time God]
Dilates time just before the user takes a hit.
★ 9.
This one gave me the most trouble.
This is probably the highest-grade item among the nine artifacts.
Meaning it's top-tier even within Legendary.
Time manipulation is adjacent to dimensional-attribute properties, so think of it as an outlier class.
For reference, one of the veteran users specializing in time manipulation is currently in the advance party.
Let me explain why I agonized over this.
The feel of it will be subtle at first.
It'll probably just feel like your perception stat got a slight nudge right before you get hit.
And you won't be able to tell the difference between this and the utility magic called 'Thought Acceleration' that you'll learn later.
But if you're playing for the absolute endgame, this is the one you should pick.
No monster has ever been reported to nullify time manipulation—not even that veteran user in the advance party.
In other words, this is an artifact that's guaranteed to work at minimum through floor 900.
So the three artifacts I'm recommending are…
[Wrath of the Sun God] [Tremor of the Thunder God] [Oblivion of the Time God]
Now, you might be wondering why I'm including [Wrath of the Sun God] when I called it an early-game item.
It's because you need to join the advance party.
But precisely for that reason, surviving the early floors might actually matter more than you'd think.
Cases of someone clearing 100+ floors above their starting floor are extremely rare in the Gallery.
Cases of clearing 200+ floors above starting point essentially don't exist.
So to break through that wall, picking the Wrath of the Sun God might actually be the smarter play.
Like most Gallery members who've stalled out on a single floor due to matchup problems and growth ceilings—at minimum through floor 300, you won't hit a wall at all.
That said, picking either of the other two is perfectly fine.
Any one of the three is a smart choice. None of them is a stupid pick.
Thank you for reading this long post.
I think this is where my role ends.
______
I read through the entire post.
A sound of genuine admiration escaped me.
*This is incredible. Seriously.*
The fact that he knew all of these items wasn't what surprised me.
This was an analysis that explained what type of combat technique each artifact replaced, and what level of mastery in that martial discipline would be required to produce equivalent power.
On top of that, it was a consultation that factored in the floor-by-floor monster types of the Demon King's tower and even made educated guesses about my current skill tree.
*Oblivion of the Time God or Tremor of the Thunder God… Wrath of the Sun God if I want to be comfortable right now…*
First, I hit refresh and checked the comment section.
[Comments]
Anon (312F): This is basically a thesis lmao
Anon (418F): How does he even know all this?? This guy is a certified gear-obsessed maniac;;
Anon (249F): SSS-Rank Gear Chaser is on another level lol
Anon (148F): Someone give me a one-line summary.
└ SSS-Rank Gear Chaser (OP): I wrote it at the end, dumbass. Pick one of: Oblivion of the Time God, Tremor of the Thunder God, Wrath of the Sun God.
└ Anon (148F): Wow, still got that gutter mouth I see lol
Anon (431F): Wait these things are actually that broken??
Anon (468F): Legendary performance is no joke.
Anon (310F): The Lament of the Sea God halving agility sounds insane but you're saying Tremor of the Thunder God beats it?
└ SSS-Rank Gear Chaser: Because there are four turret-types in the 100s alone. And from floor 400 onward there are plenty of enemies that resist stat reduction.
Anon (310F): Ahh I see…
Anon (470F): Tremor of the Thunder God sounds like the GOAT, top-tier electric paralysis is genuinely nasty.
└ Anon (543F): Wasn't it around the 440s, that one guy who uses lightning—he was getting electrocuted by his own attacks lmaooooooo
└ Anon (460F): That's me; Gear Chaser even knows my spec.
└ Anon (643F): Dude has everyone memorized
The comment section was equally blown away.
I typed at the keyboard.
Anon (100F): Thank you so much. Your breakdown made everything so much clearer. How do you know all of this?
└ SSS-Rank Gear Chaser (OP): Not at all lol. If anything, I should be thanking you. It's been a really long time since I've written an analysis post where I had to put everything I had into it.
└ Anon (643F): Newbie privilege is unreal lmao
└ Anon (430F): Being sweet only to the newbie, I'm literally going to be sick lmaooooooooo
└ SSS-Rank Gear Chaser: ㅗ
└ Anon (297F): But doesn't this basically mean even he doesn't know which of the final three to pick?
└ SSS-Rank Gear Chaser: That's because you're a complete idiot, not because of anything else.
└ Anon (643F): Excuse me??
A round of somewhat violent exchanges followed.
After that, a full-on debate broke out in the Gallery over which one to pick.
Anon (643F): She's going to be climbing with instant-kill skills on cooldown anyway, so does she even need an offensive skill?
└ Anon (542F): Better to save the instant-kills for invaders…
└ Anon (643F): Oh right, fair point.
Anon (358F): If you're going to pick Tremor of the Thunder God you might as well take Wrath of the Sun God. It's not like she'll be using Death Mark forever, and I don't see what paralysis does for her.
└ Anon (741F): Plus she's already building attack and magic with instant-kill derivatives, so offensive skills are more than covered.
└ Anon (549F): Yeah, makes sense to grab Wrath of the Sun God since it leans more toward survival. Better to push floors with it while training.
└ Anon (243F): Oblivion of the Time God also helps with survival though, isn't that the best pick?
└ Anon (643F): The thing about Oblivion of the Time God is it's kind of a mixed bag—it boosts reaction speed but if your agility isn't there you can still die.
└ Anon (643F): Defense is fine since she'll be learning Magic Shield-type skills anyway.
└ Anon (720F): Wait why is this even a debate, it has to be Oblivion of the Time God. Wasn't the whole point that it's the only one that works from start to endgame lol
└ Anon (643F): But can she actually make it to the endgame though lol
Wrath of the Sun God, Tremor of the Thunder God, Oblivion of the Time God.
Immediate comfort, mid-to-late stability, or extreme endgame viability.
I pulled my eyes away from the Gallery for a moment and looked ahead.
The orbs, glowing in every color imaginable.
*A choice, huh.*
A choice presupposes that you're giving something up.
"But I don't want to give up anything…"
That thought crossed my mind.
I tilted my head upward.
The lid of the massive Golden Chest came into view.
It had slammed shut the moment I touched the second orb.
"…"
In that instant, a few ideas flickered through my mind.
"Would it work…?"
I turned my gaze back to the hologram window.
I typed into the comment section.
Anon (100F): Going to test whether I can take more than one.
Posted.
The moment the comment went up, question marks started flooding in.
└ Anon (312F): ?
└ Anon (548F): ??
└ Anon (249F): Excuse me?
└ Anon (461F): What test? What are you even planning to do?
I replied.
└ Anon (100F): I have an idea. I think I might be able to walk out with two.
└ Anon (364F): LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO
└ Anon (730F): Can you please just be normal for once…
└ Anon (670F): Newbie, rein in your imagination please.
└ Anon (578F): Here we go again again again again.
└ Anon (643F): Bro it's a SELECTION reward lmao, you literally watched the chest slam shut with your own eyes wtf lmaooooooo
└ Anon (730F): Like they're just going to hand you multiple Legendary items…
└ Fenrir: Getting greedy might mean you end up with nothing at all…
I hadn't even said what I was going to do and it was already chaos.
But it was absolutely worth trying.
"There are 9 of them right in front of me. Getting just one feels way too stingy."
